Based on permaculture regenerative design, our goal is to grow delicious food while encouraging food security and community empowerment.
We welcome guests to stay in our three bedrooms, numerous campsites or rent out the entire property. We love cooking pot lucks, sitting around the fire listening to music, going to Berkeley Springs Spas, and meeting good people. We also have carpool available from Washington, DC., if you need a ride.
Building resilience through innovative food production, education, and community. Sow the Seed.
From Hallow-mas to Soma’s Annual 30th Summer Birthday Party, we love hosting gatherings. If you are looking to organize a permaculture workshop, a birthday party, or just looking for a place outside the city to spend with friends in beautiful West Virginia, we will work with you to make it a memorable experience.
Musicians, poets, painters, writers, photographers and performers, are always welcome. We host live events and have the tools to support your live streaming, crowd-funding ventures, and video, audio and photography needs. Let us know your creative angle and we will work together to make it happen.
Community flourishes when creative people come together with the purpose of making things better. We are constantly discovering new projects that grow knowledge while learning new skills. From building tiny homes and teepees, to developing a cooperative tool library and the best system of vermaculture west of Sleepy Creek Mountain, imagination is the only limit.
Berkeley Springs is a historic spa and art-filled town nestled in the West Virginia mountains only 90 minutes from the Washington/Baltimore metro area. It boasts warm mineral springs, world class dining, blocks of local art shops and full-service spas. Golf, hiking, biking and swimming share the schedule with year ’round festivals, live music and theater.
Founded in 2012, Liberty Root’s mission is to create unique experiences that regenerate human health, biodiversity, and creative communities.
